The annual average production is about 11'000 kWh. Les cellules photovoltaïques qui composent un panneau contiennent des cristaux de silicium qui réagissent à la lumière. La lumière est transformée en électricité. Le courant continu ainsi produit est transformé via un onduleur en courant alternatif. The photovoltaic cells which make up a panel contain silicon crystals which react to the sunlight and through this reaction create an electric current. Durant la journée, l'électricité produite est revendue à la compagnie d'électricité, le compteur tourne à l'envers. Selon la loi de Genève, le courant d'origine renouvelable peut être revendu à 3 fois le prix usuel.
La nuit, les batteries du bateau sont rechargées à partir du réseau électrique à un tarif de nuit avantageux.
In daytime, the electricity generated is sold to the electric power company, and the meter runs in reverse. Under Geneva law, electric power generated using renewable resources may be sold at three times the going price.
At night, the boat's batteries are recharged from the public grid at an advantageous tariff.
